Phil Gordon, expert poker analyst and co-host for Celebrity Poker Showdown, is a world-class poker player, adventure traveler, sports fan, and accomplished businessman.
Phil has won nearly $1,200,000 in poker tournaments since taking the poker world by storm in the 2001 World Series of Poker championship event where he finished 4th and won $400,000. Phil is a two time World Poker Tour champion, including a first season win in Aruba and a second season win at the Bay 101 Shooting Stars tournament.
Phil came to the world of professional poker via the high-tech industry. After entering college at age 15, Phil graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology at 20 with a degree in Computer Science. After a two year stint at Lockheed Missiles and Space, Phil joined Netsys Technologies, Inc. as its lead software engineer and first employee. Three years later, Cisco systems purchased Netsys for $95 million in stock and cash.
Since then, Phil has traveled the world, visiting over 50 countries on six continents. With his best friend and poker professional Rafe Furst, Phil set out in an RV to attend more than 140 sporting events and raise money for cancer research in "The Greatest Road Trip in Sports History."
Phil has two books on poker available to the public. The infamous "Book of 20 Tips" that Phil gives to each of the celebrities is available online for a $20 tax deductible contribution to the Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation. Phil's book, Poker: The Real Deal (published by Simon Spotlight Entertainment) is available in bookstores nationwide.
